The Principles of Animation

Here’s a quick study I did on the Principles of Animation, as illustrated in “The Illusion of Life” by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnson. Two of the nine fathers of animation at Disney.

Snowball Fight!

I created this Snowball Fight game a very long time ago. Probably around ’99.  But it’s a good example of what just a little code and some animation can do.  I appear in the game as well so go ahead and nail me if you want.

Throw Tomatoes! Desktop Widget

Here’s a desktop widget that will allow you to throw tomatoes at any web site you think sucks. Still need to build in code so you can’t throw any at my sites. At any rate, download it here, or even download the code that created it. Enjoy!

Best Buy Quiz Game

I created this trivia game to educate and motivate Best Buy reps to more actively sell cable services at their respective stores. It actually was created to play full screen at tradeshow pods. I think it turned out pretty well and since it was built using XML it was easy to update. Plus I had [...]

Happy Fun Ball! Desktop Widget

I created this desktop widget to show what some Flash animation, ActionScript and MDM Zinc can do for your desktop. Unzip the file and run the exe to see the Happy Fun Ball appear on your screen. (I promise it’s not spyware.) Then grab and throw at your leisure! Here is the source file for [...]

Bacardi Flavors Recipe Book

I really only had a small part in developing this online, fully customizable recipe book. I worked on the animation portion.  In short, go to bacardiflavors.com, create your own recipe book and then have it printed and mailed to yourself or a friend within weeks.  How cool is that!  Or view it online.  Here’s my [...]

Arizona Interactive Map

I’m particularly proud of this project due to the heavy ActionScript I had to do.  Basically it’s an interactive map of key areas in Arizona’s Sonoran Desert. All the locations are dynamically being pulled in and displayed based on their latitude/longitude. Also, it was tricky moving the small inset map based on the large map, [...]

"This is Cable" Edugame for Best Buy

I created this trivia game to educate and motivate Best Buy reps to more actively sell cable services at their respective stores. It actually was created to play full screen at tradeshow pods. I think it turned out pretty well and since it was built using XML it was easy to update. Plus I had [...]

CreativeCow.net: Answering Forum Posts

So I’ve been frequenting creativecow.net and answering questions there.  As a way to help out that large audience and to keep me sharp.  It’s nice to have answers to questions but it’s also fun trying to figure out how to do things. Projects are often like a big puzzle that you use tools (Flash) to [...]

Arizona Interactive Map

Here’s an interactive map I created for National Geographic.  The thing that was probably trickiest concerning it was not navigating the large map, but having the small map move and scale with the large map.  It’s also XML driven with the XML containing the latitude and longitude data, so I had to do some conversions [...]
